POTASSIUM DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS
Potassium deficiency slows plant growth. Potassium deficiency delays pollination and maturity in maize. Leaf margins turn yellow and eventually die, and leaves may not fully develop. Crop yields are reduced as a result of the reduced leaf area. Stalks are also weakened, which increases the likelihood of lodging. Plants are less resistant to certain diseases and moisture stress. Reduced cell extension shortens internodes, resulting in stunted plants and harvest losses.
