Captain Vikram Batra

Captain Vikram Batra is remembered as a hero for his courage and service to the nation. His selfless devotion to the nation earned him the nickname of "Sher Shah" or "Lion of the Himalayas" from his colleagues in the Indian Army. He was born on September 9, 1974, in Himachal Pradesh, India, and joined the Indian Army in 1996.

He served in the Kargil War in 1999 and was one of the most successful officers in the battle. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valor in the face of the enemy, for his role in the war. During the war, he famously said, "Yeh Dil Maange More!", which became a slogan for the people of India.

He was killed in action on July 7, 1999, while attempting to capture a peak during the Kargil War. He was 25 when he died. His martyrdom was celebrated all over India, and his name will always be remembered in the annals of Indian history.

He was an inspiration to all Indians and a reminder of the importance of patriotism and self-sacrifice. His story was featured in the Indian bollywood movie which depicted his courage and selflessness. He was truly the pride of India and will always remain so.
