After each use

• For an electric blower vacuum mulcher

After unplugging the appliance and waiting for the motor to cool, clean the machine, taking care to remove any vegetable waste present inside the tube.

Empty the vacuum bag and check it for any holes or tears.

• For a gas blower vacuum cleaner

Before handling, always make sure that the engine has cooled down. Then clean it with a slightly damp cloth and dry it. Also, regularly clean the cylinder fins and spark plug. Take the opportunity to check that the distance between the 2 electrodes is correct (generally between 0.7 and 0.8 mm).

Every 5 to 10 hours of use, it is recommended to clean the air filter with soapy water and then let it dry for at least 24 hours. Also, check the fuel filter and replace these filters as needed.

Finally, check the condition of the exhaust pipe.

Current internal combustion engines significantly reduce exhaust gas emissions.

Annual maintenance before storage

When the good weather arrives, your blower vacuum will be stored until the fall.

• For electric models

Always store your leaf vac in a dry place. If necessary, tighten screws and nuts so that the vibration can loosen over time.

• For gas models

Clean your leaf vac and motor parts thoroughly. Drain all fuel from the tank to preserve its condition and store it in a dry place.

Draining a gas blower vacuum

Every 40 or 50 hours, it is recommended to change the oil of your gas leaf blower.

To do this, unscrew the oil drain plug and let the oil drain into a container provided for this purpose. If necessary, tilt the device slightly.

Once drained, replace the drain plug. Open the oil tank and fill it.

To start your blower, lay it flat on the ground.

It is very important for your safety not to start the engine while holding the machine at arm's length.

Once launched, carry it by the handles provided for this purpose.

If you are using a gas model, follow the starting advice in its user manual and choose the "cold or hot start" position depending on the engine temperature.

The blower will produce enough air to loosen the leaves from the ground.

You will therefore be able to group them in small piles to pick them up easily.

Then, all you have to do is place the collected leaves in a composter or in garbage bags.

Establish a safety distance of about fifteen meters around your work area.

Never point the blower at a person or animal, and be careful of children.

Never use a blower on an unstable surface, such as a ladder or a roof.

Never blow on an incandescent heat source (fire or barbecue), and never smoke near a model equipped with a combustion engine.
