Ip Man (葉問), also known as Yip Man, was a Chinese martial artist who was a grandmaster of the Wing Chun style of Kung Fu. He is best known as the teacher of Bruce Lee, and is considered to have been one of the most influential martial artists of the 20th century.

Ip Man was born in Foshan, China in 1893, and began learning Wing Chun from his teacher, Chan Wah-shun, at a young age. He later studied under Leung Bik, the son of Wing Chun's founder, Leung Jan. Ip Man was a highly skilled martial artist, and was known for his ability to defeat opponents who were larger and stronger than him.

In 1949, Ip Man and his family fled to Hong Kong as a result of the Chinese Civil War. There, he began teaching Wing Chun to a small group of students. Among his students was a young Bruce Lee, who would go on to become one of the most famous martial artists of all time.

Ip Man's legacy is still alive today, with many schools and practitioners of Wing Chun around the world tracing their lineage back to him. He is also known for his role in popular culture, with several movies and TV series about his life and teachings.
