The internet provides better access to information, makes it easier to communicate with your loved ones, promotes skill development, improves education and learning, provides a platform for job hunting and application, an avenue to participate in democracy and civic duties, and recently a tool for your financial freedom. 

The current financial transactions rely on third parties, intermediaries, to maintain a record of transactions undertaken. These intermediaries like banks, online payment systems like PayPal, Payoneer and others play a significant role in regulating the world’s financial transactions. However, these intermediaries have some shortcomings like charging large transaction fees, unfairly capture value passing nothing to their customers, unfair censorship, and are pseudonymous. 

Web 3 is an iteration of the traditional internet, World Wide Web, to incorporate concepts like decentralization, blockchain technologies and token-based economies.as opposed to the intermediaries in the traditional financial phenomenon, blockchain technology enables a community to maintain a record of financial transactions. The technology enables the community to always reach a consensus on truthful transactions eliminating cheaters from the network. Blockchain technology enables the removal of centralized intermediaries without compromising the security of financial transactions. Web 3 has resulted to the birth of cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin as a good example.

Unlike the traditional currencies, the legal tender notes and coins, cryptocurrencies don’t have a central regulatory or issuing authority. Cryptocurrencies use a decentralized system to issue new units and record transactions. The only limitation of cryptocurrency is its difficulty to understand by average literate individuals. Blockchain technology requires rigorous research on how to develop, obtain and transact the crypto-units. Bitcoin being the first crypto to ever exist has taken years to understand its technological concepts. Mining Bitcoin is a complex procedure that includes solving complex cryptographic hash puzzles to verify blocks of transactions before updating the decentralized blockchain ledger. The process requires powerful hardware and software to run as well as large amount of energy requirements. This shortcoming has necessitated the need for researchers and developers to invent new ways of mining cryptocurrencies including cloud and mobile mining. 

The new crypto trend entails free mobile mining, KYC (Know Your Customer), Web 3 orientation and general adaptation/usability. Mobile mining is free and environmentally friendly as opposed to Bitcoin mining which is currently being stopped by many states like New York due to its high energy demands. Every new crypto is now focusing on Mobile mining and development of its ecosystem by attracting more people through referral rewards. The problem here is that some people fear multi level marketing and will miss out the gains coming with the referral. All in all, the coin mining is free and there is nothing to lose in case the project fails to meet its developmental targets.
