On the 16th of February 2024, the NYCN Cross River State Chapter took a significant step in preparation for their upcoming sports fiesta by setting up committees at the U. J Esuene Sports Stadium in Calabar. This marks a pivotal moment in the organization's dedication to promoting sports and youth development within the state.

During a meeting held at the office of the stadium manager, various committees were established to oversee different sporting events. The appointed ambassadors were assigned to supervise activities in football, handball, tennis/Table tennis, chess, athletics, swimming, and other sporting disciplines, ensuring a diverse range of competitions for participants and spectators alike.

At the helm of these committees was the state deputy chairman of NYCN, Engr Joel Henshaw whose leadership and vision have been instrumental in guiding the organization towards this exciting initiative. Assisting the deputy chairman in this important role was Mrs. Rose Usang, who served as the deputy chairman of the sports committee. The HOD Grassroots Sports at the Cross River State sports Commission, Mrs. Usang's expertise and dedication are sure to play a crucial role in the successful execution of the sports festival.

The formation of these committees reflects the NYCN Cross River State Chapter's commitment to providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents, foster camaraderie, and promote a culture of sportsmanship within the community. With the leadership of the state deputy chairman and the support of Mrs. Rose Usang, the upcoming sports festival promises to be a thrilling and memorable event for all involved.
