The Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, recently inaugurated a committee dedicated to launching the first-ever First Lady Female Tournament in the state.

Hon. Atsu hinted that the committee's primary goal is to spearhead the Governor's Wife Football Tournament, Tagged "The Queen's Cup," in collaboration with Ettah's Sport Management and the Ministry of Sports Development in Cross River State.

Hon. Agnes Atsu emphasized that this initiative aligns with Governor Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu's vision to rejuvenate sports in Cross River State, as the committee has been tasked with identifying and nurturing talented players at the grassroots level, following the successful development of the ministry under this administration.

The chairman of the committee, Ettah Lawrence expressed gratitude to the commissioner for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the tournament. He assured everyone of their unwavering dedication to the project and pledged to work diligently to uphold transparency and selflessness.

The collaboration between the committee members, Ettah's Sport Management, and the Ministry of Sports Development is poised to make the First Lady Female Tournament a memorable event.

With their collective passion for the state's sports development and commitment to nurturing grassroots talent, they are determined to make the tournament, scheduled from the 19th to 25th February 2024, a resounding success.
