I am sharing with you all a small family custom that we used to follow when we were small kids. My moma was the one who used to lead the night family prayer before we all retired to bed.

After the prayer, my moma used to sing this song, " Lord, keep us safe this night. Secure from all our fears. May angels guard us while we sleep. Till morning light appears. Amen ". We too learnt this song and sang daily in our night family prayer.

This song has gone so deep in me that i taught my three children to sing. We sing this song as a family to this day in our night family prayer. I wanted to know the origin of this song. I asked my moma when i was a kid as to where she learnt this song from

My moma said she learnt this song in a methodist school where she did her schooling. My moma was 76 years old when she passed away 5 months back. I was so curious to find out if this song was available on a digital media platform on the internet. To my amazement, i found this song on Youtube.

This legacy of singing this song during our family prayer at night has passed on from my moma to us and from me to my kids. Hope my kids teach this song to their descendants and keep this legacy going on for years to come...............
