Human Tendencies
As I stare upon the starry stars on my lonely nights.
I tend to think of life more subtly, for I was once young full of life and vigor.
As I grow older, I see things with a little bit of twist, for how man has dominated man to his own harm.
Some say it is within our nature, for we kill everything within our midst, maybe that is why we often kill ourselves.
But who am I to judge?
For within me lies my own inner demons of which I have to suppress, my unending hunger for power and success.
But does that make me bad?
Is it bad to acquire all life's treasures within my grasp?
Does it make me more of a bad person?
History has often depicted men as good or bad.
But who is the good?
And who is the bad?
Isn't the Victor praised and the vanquished shamed.
Does not the Victor tell the stories as he basked in his glory.
But humans we are, I have seen wolves in sheep clothing and sheep in wolves clothing.
I fear the sheep who howl like a wolf more than the wolf who bleats like a sheep.
For within all humans lies the tendency to cheat, deceive and kill.
