Selah - Ori Benedict Agbor, a student pursuing a degree in the Arts Education program at the University of Calabar under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Education, has announced his ambitious attempt to break the "Guinness World Record for the Longest Read-Aloud."
This record-breaking challenge has officially garnered recognition and approval from the Guinness World Records (GWR), signaling the green light for the commencement of the attempt on the 12th of February. The endeavor is scheduled to span over six consecutive days.
Ori Benedict Agbor, born in 2004, is a native of Ojerim-Mbube in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, and is the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. Agbor Linus Ori.
Inspiration Behind the Record Attempt:
The genesis of this inspiring dream stems from an unexpected source. Ori shares that the idea emerged as a passionate aspiration rather than being carefully planned or contemplated.
From the age of 9, he held a fervent wish and prayer to share the gospel with the world. Little did he know that this casual desire would transform into a profound ambition. The spark of inspiration struck when a renowned Nigerian Chef, Hilda Bassey, achieved the Guinness World Record for the longest hour in cooking—a triumph that Ori viewed as a blessing and an inspiration for all.
A pivotal moment arose when a fellow University of Calabar student, Daniel Ehiz, successfully attempted the longest writing record. Witnessing his success became a driving force for Ori.
On November 28th, 2023, a powerful urge to share the word of God reached its zenith. A compelling inner voice inspired Ori to embark on this ambitious journey, leading him to aspire to share the word through the Guinness World Record attempt.
Book Choice for the Attempt:
Ori has chosen the BIBLE as the focal point of his attempt, undeterred by any discouragement. He is resolute in his decision, emphasizing the importance of delivering a holy message that will resonate deeply with people, especially the youth.
Reason for Not Choosing Literary Works:
He sees this experience as more than a literary endeavor; it is a transformative message aimed at touching hearts and sparking revival. Ori aims to convey the message with intention and clarity, dedicating six days to share the word of God.
Commencement and Conclusion Dates:
The attempt is set to commence
