Winifred Abaidoo-Ayin, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa NPP Parliamentary Candidate.
Educational background
The Parliamentary Candidate for all her life, has spent a lot of time with the good constituents.
She started her educational journey as a girl and completed Breman Asikuma Catholic Girls School and completed her Senior High School Education at Breman Asikuma Senior High School — BASS (1999 Group).
At the time, there wasn't any tertiary institution in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) District and this necessitated that she furthered her education at the then Cape Coast Polytechnic, now Cape Coast Technical University where she obtained an HND in Accounting.
She didn't stop there because she had aspired to get to the top of her professional career and therefore, pursued a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) with an Accounting option.
Her desire to climb to the top of the academic ladder didn't end after obtaining her 1st Degree in Accounting but pursued a Degree in Accounting at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Accra as (M.A. Accounting).
She was in between periods working for the good people of AOB District to have their fair share of the knowledge she was acquiring from learning and she was serving as the accountant for Our Lady of Grace Hospital (OLGH), one of the biggest hospitals in Ghana and has the number one eye clinic which brings people from the nearby countries to seek for treatment.
She is currently a Chartered Accountant.
As a professional worker; Chartered Accountant at the hospital and a philanthropist, when her desire to serve the whole of the district not limiting it to health and its other related fields emerged, the good people of AOB Constituency described her as a perfect candidate to lead the NPP fraternity which was confirmed and endorsed by the delegates who convened at the Roman Catholic Boys School Park on the 2nd December 2023.
"You are the perfect candidate for the position, your dedicated and inspirational work with business and educational organisations in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa over many years has been to ensure that talented, successful and future business leaders(youth) are recognised and rewarded, helping young women and men progress and succeed within their specialised fields."
Some people within the district told the media when she submitted her nomination forms.
"In addition, you have quietly and humbly made time to support your chosen charities and have provided much invaluable pro bono work.
We wish you success going forward and encourage all to show their commitment to serving our dear district."
Another fellow admonished.
Research has it that any time a woman takes up a leadership position in the district, they excel and the best example has been sterling performance at her workplace. Hon. Winifred Abaidoo-Ayin aka Ɔbaa Naaa as she's affectionately called is an ambassador of unity and this quality has ensured and brought about unity even after her election.
