ひっくり返って、病院送りになったり、受験会場で不審者扱いを受けて入場拒否をされたり、みっともないことが多かった。お世話になったホテルの人も最初は送迎バスは父兄は乗れないと勘違いしてみえた。

しかし、それもこれも必要なことだった。

　「とても頭に入らない」が「わかる！」に変わる瞬間を知った。

　こうして、今は英語と数学の両方が指導できる講師として重宝されている。

　考えてみると、高校生の時に吐きそうな思いで数式を見ていた時から３０年が経過した。高校生の方は私もそうであったように２年後、３年後しか見えていないはず。そりゃ、そうだ。私もまさか自分がアメリカで生活したり、数学Ⅲを勉強するハメになるなんて予想ができるはずがなかった。

I was often sent to the hospital after being knocked over, or denied entry to the exam site because I was treated as a suspicious person. At first, the hotel staff who took care of us seemed to misunderstand that parents were not allowed to ride on the shuttle bus.

But this was necessary.

　I knew the moment when "I can't get my head around this" turned into "I get it! I knew the moment when "I can't get my head around it" turned into "I get it!
          

　And so, he is now a valued instructor who can teach both English and mathematics.
 

　When I think about it, 30 years have passed since I was a high school student looking at mathematical formulas with the feeling that I was going to throw up. High school students must only be able to see two or three years from now, just as I did. That's right. There was no way I could have predicted that I would be living in the U.S. or studying Math III.
