"We've been keeping up with you. Your progress as a soldier has not gone unnoticed. You executed diligently in the battle at Bagyi. Your father should be proud. Because of your valiant prowess we want to promote you. You will be rewarded with honors."
Relief overcame me. A rustle of static eminated from one of the Council members telecompters. Minister Fleur turned to face the noise. It was Magistrate Poge.
"Yehೲlel behyee reꝏϿꜷded Ͻnenlilyeaf..." ("You Will be rewarded only if...") He interrupted allowing the if to hang dramatically in mid air.
He looked at Minister Fleur she nodded her approval for him to continue, "We don't usually bestow such honors on the child of a slave." He continued fluently in my mothers language gazing directly into my eyes with disdain.
I held his gaze and did not blink. I knew I could end him in just one swift move, but having learned self control from an early age, I analyzed all the repercussions of such a brash act in my s᭧f seaf (mind). My steady unblinking gaze must have intimidated him because he lowered his eyes long before I did.
"YehೲϿlelded hahvetೲ cahmꜷplyeetet ah mimỷsesnen firesestet." ("You would have to complete a mission first.") Minister Fleur finished.
