　これはよく言われることだが、実践は難しい。自分を信用するように求める人は多い。しかし、自分が相手を信頼していないのに、相手に自分を信用するように求めても無理だろう。賢い人ほど他人がバカに見て信用しない。

　私の生徒を見ていても、偏差値が６０を超えるような生徒は大多数の同級生がバカに見えてしまう。

「なんで、こんな簡単な問題が解けないんだろう？」

　これが正直な思いなのだけれど、それを口にすると相手が傷つくので黙っている。

　しかし、心の中で

「こんな人に大事な仕事を任せる人はいない」

　と思っている。確かに、不注意な人に医者をやらせたら薬剤の量を間違えたり、手術で切る場所を間違えて人を殺してしまいそうだ。

　大企業が学歴重視なのも同じ理由だろう。計画的に勉強できる人間でないと信用できないのは、企業の存続に関わる重大事だから。理解はできるが、それでも相手を信用しないで自分を信用しろと言うのは無理がある。

　どうしたらいいのだろう？

　This is often said, but difficult to put into practice. Many people ask others to trust them. But it would be impossible to ask others to trust you if you do not trust them. The wiser you are, the more others will see you as a fool and not trust you.



　When I look at my students, the majority of my students who have deviation scores over 60 look like idiots to the majority of their classmates.

Why can't they solve such simple problems?"

　This is my honest thought, but I keep quiet because if I say it out loud, they get hurt.



　However, in my heart, I think to myself

"No one would entrust such a person with an important job.

　But in his heart, he thinks, "No one would entrust such a person with an important job. It is true that if you let a careless person work as a doctor, he or she is likely to use the wrong amount of medicine or make the wrong cut in an operation and kill someone.



　The same reason is probably the reason why large companies place so much importance on academic credentials. They don't trust people who can only study systematically because it is a serious matter that affects the survival of the company. It is understandable, but still it is unreasonable to ask people to trust you without trusting them.



　What should we do?
