  ベテラン講師になるとタブレットとかAIといった新しい道具に拒否反応を示す人が増える。扱い方が分からない時に、自分の子どもような年齢の後輩に尋ねるのに変なプライドが許さない。

　そうこうしているうちに、時代から取り残されてゆく。それは、遊び心が足りないせいだと思う。小さな子供は年齢差を気にしないし、変なプライドもない。ただ純粋に面白いから手に取って試してみるだけだ。

　それに日本社会には変な伝統がある。私が文系なのに数Ⅲを勉強し始めたら「職域を侵すな！」みたいな圧力がかかり、SNSに手を出したら「年寄りの冷や水」のような言われよう。「年寄りは年寄りらしく」みたいなステレオタイプがある。

　もちろん、そんな競争力を削ぐ伝統に同調していたら生き残れないから無視するけど。

More and more veteran instructors reject new tools such as tablets and AI. When they don't know how to use them, they have a strange pride that prevents them from asking their younger colleagues who are as old as their own children.



　In the meantime, they are being left behind by the times. I think this is due to a lack of playfulness. Little children don't care about the age difference, and they don't have any strange pride. They just pick it up and try it out because it is genuinely interesting.



　Besides, there is a weird tradition in Japanese society. If I start studying Math III even though I'm a humanities student, there's pressure like "Don't violate my job description!" If I start to use social networking services, I'm told that I'm just "old and cold water. There is a stereotype that "old people should be like old people.



　Of course, if I were to identify with such competitiveness-diminishing traditions, I wouldn't survive, so I'll just ignore them.
