Peace cannot be kept by force.  It can only be achieved by understanding.

　人類は二度と世界大戦を行うわけがない。そんな愚かではない。プーチンのウクライナ侵略が始まるまで世界中の人たちがそう信じていた。ところが、早くも数万人単位で罪の無い人たちが略奪され、暴行され、殺されている。そして、誰も止めることが出来ない。

　アインシュタインがいくら「力では平和を保てない」と言っても無力感に打ちひしがれている世界の人に説得力はないだろう。実際、ミサイルや砲弾が飛んでくるのを止めるには相手の武器を破壊するしかないだろう。

　しかし、人類はそうやって数千年にわたって戦争を続けてきて人殺しを止められない。プーチン、習近平、金正恩などの独裁者を理解することなど出来るわけがない。世界中の人たちはそう考えている。

　実際、独裁者は暗殺や反乱の中で死んでいくケースが多かった。中国の王朝の独裁者の最期は悲惨なことが多い。イエスは「隣人を愛せよ」と言ったが、現実には隣人トラブルが多い。家族の中でさえ、いさかいが絶えない。

　相手は理解し、受け入れるのは困難な場合が多い。どうしたらいいのだろう？

Mankind would never conduct a world war again. We are not that stupid. That is what people around the world believed until Putin's invasion of Ukraine began. But already, tens of thousands of innocent people are being looted, assaulted, and killed. And no one can stop it.



　No matter how much Einstein said, "You can't keep the peace by force," he would not be able to convince the people of the world who are overwhelmed with a sense of helplessness. In fact, the only way to stop missiles and artillery shells flying at us would be to destroy their weapons.



　But that is how mankind has been waging war for thousands of years and cannot stop killing people. There is no way we can understand dictators such as Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong-un. People around the world think so.



　In fact, many dictators have died in assassinations and rebellions. The end of dictators of Chinese dynasties is often tragic. Jesus said, "Love your neighbor," but in reality there are many neighbor troubles. Even within families, squabbles abound.



　The other person is often difficult to understand and accept. What should we do?
