   さすがに賢人の言葉は鋭い。思い当たることがある人は多いと思う。「隣人を愛せよ」という抽象的な表現なら同意できます。しかし、具体的な隣人はどうでしょう。ただ、物理的に隣に住んでいるというだけで親しい友人になれるはずがない。

　騒音で悩まされたことがあります。木が伸びてきて戸井が詰まったこともあります。隣の客の駐輪場や駐車場にされたこともあります。隣の子供のサッカーボールを何度も窓にぶつけられたことがあります。そんな非常識な人と仲良くなれるわけがない。

　「隣人を愛せよ」「敵を愛せよ」と並べて書いたイエス様も慧眼だったのですね。

　これは国家間の話にも通用する。憲法の前文に書かれているのは

「平和を愛する諸国民の公正と信義を信頼して、われらの安全と生存を保持しようと決意した」

　ですが、隣国である中国の習近平、北朝鮮の金正恩、韓国などの「公正と信義を信頼」出来るわけがありません。そんなことをしたら、日本は滅亡してしまう。隣国は敵国と言った方が現実に合っていると感じる国民が圧倒的多数だと思います。

　  The words of a wise man are indeed sharp. I think many of us can think of something that comes to mind. I can agree with the abstract expression, "Love your neighbor." But what about concrete neighbors? There is no way we can be close friends just because we physically live next door to each other.

　I have been bothered by noise. I have had a tree grow up and clog my door well. I have had my bicycle and parking lot turned into a parking lot for the neighbor's guests. I have had a neighbor's child's soccer ball hit my window several times. There is no way I can be friends with such insane people.

　Jesus had good insight when he wrote alongside the words, "Love your neighbor" and "Love your enemy."

　This also applies to talk among nations. The preamble of the Constitution states.

"Trusting in the justice and faith of peace-loving peoples, we resolve to preserve our security and existence."

　However, there is no way that Japan can "trust in the justice and faith" of its neighbors such as Xi Jinping of China, Kim Jong-un of North Korea, and South Korea. If we do so, Japan will be destroyed. I believe that the overwhelming majority of the public feels that it is more in line with reality to say that our neighbors are our enemies.
